About Action With Purpose Wellness & Counseling
Therapy should help you create change — not simply give you a place to talk about why you’re stuck.
Action With Purpose Wellness & Counseling was founded around a simple idea: meaningful change happens when effective clinical care is combined with a deeper understanding of who you are, what matters to you, and the life you actually want to build.
We provide online counseling for people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, anger, grief, major life transitions, loss of direction, and other challenges that can leave life feeling disconnected or off course.
Our work is warm, collaborative, and paced to meet you where you are — but it is also active and intentional. You deserve more from therapy than simply being heard. You’re here because something needs to change.
Supportive, But Not Passive
Feeling understood matters. Having a therapist who listens without judgment matters.
But that is only part of the work.
At Action With Purpose, therapy also involves identifying patterns, developing clinical skills, addressing current distress, exploring underlying issues, and translating insight into changes you can actually use outside the therapy session.
The goal is not simply temporary symptom relief. We work toward changes that feel authentic to who you are, aligned with your values, and sustainable in your real life.
A Whole-Person Approach
Mental health does not exist separately from the rest of your life.
Relationships, physical health, work, finances, identity, family, recreation, environment, meaning, and purpose all influence one another.
Rather than treating these areas as competing priorities, we look for values-based choices that work together — so progress in one area can strengthen others.
The goal is to help you create a life that feels increasingly authentic, grounded, connected, capable, intentional, and fulfilling.
Personalized Therapy — Not a One-Size-Fits-All Formula
There is no single therapeutic technique that fits every person or every situation.
Your treatment is shaped around what you are experiencing, what you want to change, your history, your strengths, your values, and the pace that makes sense for you.
Sometimes the immediate need is learning tools to regulate anxiety, manage emotions, improve communication, or interrupt destructive patterns. Other times the work involves trauma, identity, relationships, unresolved experiences, or understanding why the same struggles continue to show up.
Usually, meaningful therapy involves some combination of both.
Ready to See if It Feels Like a Fit?
You do not need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before getting started.
You can view current availability and request an initial session online. The first session gives us an opportunity to understand what is bringing you in, what you hope will be different, and whether our approach feels like a good fit for what you are looking for.
“I was hesitant at first because I thought I would be more comfortable with a female therapist. I decided to give it a chance, and I’m really glad I did. I felt comfortable much more quickly than I expected, and the work ended up being exactly what I needed.”
“I’ve worked with therapists before who were kind and listened, but I often left feeling like nothing was really changing. This felt different. I still felt heard and understood, but we also identified patterns, worked on practical skills, and focused on what I could actually do differently. I finally felt like therapy was helping me move forward.”
“We had tried talking about the same problems over and over and kept ending up in the same place. Couples counseling helped us understand what was actually happening underneath the arguments instead of just deciding who was right. We learned ways to communicate differently and started making changes outside of the sessions too.”

Jeff founded Action With Purpose around a practical, values-based approach to counseling that combines clinical mental health treatment with active work toward meaningful change.
His style is warm, grounded, collaborative, and direct when helpful. Clients are given space to talk openly and move at a pace that feels appropriate, while also being encouraged to examine patterns, build new skills, challenge what is keeping them stuck, and apply what they are learning in everyday life.
Jeff works with individuals and couples across a broad range of concerns, with an emphasis on helping clients create changes that are authentic, practical, and sustainable.
